fastpencil makes amends.
YOU ARE WELCOME FOR MY PATIENCE. next time, please don't send me books with awkward blotch spots. and make sure i don't lose fifty one books in the mail.
all that said being said and done, fastpencil DOES have awesome customer service. you can call or email and they get back to you super quickly. i will give them points for that.
so...
looks like i can start signing the twenty-three that didn't have have any printing errors! (though unfortunately, these still bear the typos in the second poem. hurr hurr.) these'll get shipped out tomorrow!
fastpencil ruins everything.
in which fast pencil messes up a bit.
remember how excited i was about the shipping confirmation emails i received? the excitement is now gone because i only received fifty books in the mail today (as opposed to one hundred and one) and more than half of the fifty i received had some lovely printing errors.
please view:
THANKS FOR RUINING RECESS FOR EVERYONE, FASTPENCIL. sigh.
i'm sending them a testy email demanding they fix everything and will be calling them when their hotline opens. i'll keep you updated on what happens. i truly hope they can fix all these mistakes in a timely manner.

book shipments and amazon reviews.
i got an email from the publisher stating that the books i've ordered (all 101 of them) have finally shipped! so for those of you who ordered through me, worry not, i haven't forgotten. it takes a long time to process, print, and bind all the books. shipping should only take a few days and since i'm on break i've nothing else to do except get these written in and shipped out to you guys as quickly as possible. i'll let you know when they arrive at my house.
also, if you haven't heard, my book is available on amazon! and barnes and noble! and should be available for ibook and on many other sites very soon.
amazon paperback: click me
amazon ebook: click me
barnes and noble ebook: click me
the best part is that i have my first ever official review, and i didn't even write it! it's on the amazon ebook item. someone thinks i'm quirky! i didn't know i was quirky, though i aspire to be. thanks to whoever sent me the stars (and on b&n, too). it's much appreciated. i'd considered rating myself (i'm not above that, see) but i'm too lazy to make the required account in order to do so.
well, at least i'm honest.

the printing process and return addresses.
i received an email last night from fastpencil! (you can click to enlarge.)
tl;dr: the books are being printed! both shipments of 50! i'm glad there's a little bit of processing time because we caught THREE FREAKING TYPOS, and two were (of course) within the first five pages, haha. thanks to devin, an anonymous formspringer, and aaron for being my eyes. fastpencil allows you to go back and edit, which i did, so hopefully the changes will be reflected in these copies. for everyone else...just pretend you have a super rare, limited edition copy. sigh.
because it takes a fair amount of time to process, print, bind, and ship the books, i've been trying to be productive while i wait. unfortunately, the only thing i can truly do is...write return addresses on 100 bubble mailer envelopes!
the excitement of my life impresses even me.
i figured it would be easy to knock out (like marathon training for my hand) but i cramped up after about...fifteen. (weak.) aaron took pity on me and helped out, and after awhile i began to experiment with different handwriting. i then brought some to my parents' house to see if they'd help, but they just laughed and printed me off some mailing labels. those seemed impersonal, so i stuck some spongebob and various fuzzy dolphin stickers on a few to jazz things up.
the moral of the story is: i wish my printer had ink, and trying to write 100 little notes is going to be pure insanity.
at least the envelopes are all done!
my storing methods are efficient.

SPECIAL NOTICE TO THOSE OUTSIDE THE USA
UPDATE: received email from fastpencil.
"Kelsey,
I just realized that since you ordered wide distribution for your
title, it will be available on Amazon.com shortly, and the shipping
rates globally will be very competitive there, that will work for your
intl orders."
i'll let you guys know when it's available through amazon :)
--
i've had multiple people try to order internationally from the publisher's website, only to be quoted RIDICULOUS shipping prices. ($90+ USD to ship to the UK? ummm...) I emailed fastpencil demanding an explanation, and they replied:
"Unfortunately our Intl shipping rates are really bad right now, we are trying to negotiate better rates with FedEx."
WHAT I SUGGEST:
1. the paperback will be on amazon.com and barnes and noble within a few weeks. if you buy from one of these venues, the shipping will be more reasonable.
2. go ebook.
i'll update my site and my dA when my book is available on amazon. i'm really sorry, guys.
